‘Current Mood,' an acrylic creation on canvas, emerged in the early days of the COVID shelter-in-place. It encapsulates the complex emotions of that time. When faced with the question 'how are you?' - a common social nicety, I pondered whether to respond with the customary 'I am doing good' or to share my unfiltered truth: 'I am exhausted, depressed, worried.' This painting serves as a visual diary of those inner struggles, offering a glimpse into the vulnerability that surfaced during the pandemic, reminding us that authentic self-expression can be both healing and courageous.
